The Set Up

I was really happy to receive this vac only two days after ordering. I like to think I am a patient person but really I am just kidding myself – I don’t like to wait for things! The two-day delivery made me very happy!

There is minimal set up required with this vac. When it arrives you will have some attachments in the box. They include: the interchangeable brush rolls, the turbo brush tool, crevice tool and dusting brush, pet dusting brush, flexible crevice tool, stick vac with battery and mess-free dirt tank attached, and the wall mount.

The only set up is to snap the attachment you want to get started with into place. Once you figure out where this vac is going to “live” you will need a screwdriver to attach the wall mount to the wall.

Don’t forget to look for proximity to an electrical outlet so you can charge your cordless vac while it hangs in place on the wall mount.

About This Product

The Bissell 2476A has a high performance digital motor that spins at up to 420 miles per hours creating powerful cleaning performance for this little cordless vac. There are three cleaning modes so you can conveniently clean any surface in your house.

The 25 volt lithium ion battery lasts up to 40 minutes allowing me to give a quick run through of my entire house. I vacuum almost every day, so most days I am not doing a deep clean and I can easily pick up all the pet hair and dirt and even get in some furniture cleaning and high dusting before putting the vac back on the charger.

Oh, and I don’t want to forget how handy it is to grab this vac and suck up all the cat litter that scatters across the floor. I actually mounted my vac to the wall right near the litter boxes (yes, when you have more than two cats you have to have litter boxes) and it has been amazing for quick litter box area clean up!

This Bissell vac has a patented tangle free brush roll that I can really appreciate. It spins at up to 3200 RPM and leaves no hair wrap behind.

This is certainly ideal for pet homes and it is pretty great for a household with two people that have long hair that also gets all over the place. Cleaning the hair wrap off a brush roll is one of my least favorite things to do so I again, I really enjoy this patented design.

The mess free dirt tank has an easy slide technology that allows you to uncle it and easily control the dust and dander as you empty the tank. Bissell says it eliminates the clean up after the clean up which is a plus in my book.

The attachments that come with the Bissell 2746A ICONpet Pro are really useful. I like the fact that this vac converts easily and quickly from a stick vac to a handheld unit. The motorized turbo brush is especially useful on my stairs. They are kind of steep and a little dark so the short handled, lightweight unit is ideal and much safer than dragging my full size corded vac up the stairs.

I know I have mentioned a lot of great things about this product but here is my favorite – Every time you purchase a Bissell you are helping to save pets! I have 2 rescue dogs and 3 rescue cats that live in my house so this is truly important to me.

Soft bare floor brush roll – This roll can be switched out in the main head to clean more delicate floor types that you worry about scratching. Fortunately for me I don’t have these but if you did this is a unique add on.
Motorized turbo brush – this is perfect for cleaning the stairs and I also use it to clean my car. It works great to get into the hard to reach areas.
Flexible crevice tool – long and flexible attachment to reach around anything and get all that dust and dirt.
Lighted LED crevice tool – perfect for seeing what it stuck in the couch cushions. 2-1 one has hard end and soft bristle end for any cleaning challenge.
Pet dusting brush – for getting into all the areas pet hair gathers. I also like this for cleaning the window sills. It is the perfect size.
Mounting bracket charging station – quick and easy to attach to the wall and snap the vac in to place to charge. Has storage to hold all the included attachments.

Who Can Use the Bissell 2746A ICONpet Pro?

This Bissell vac is so lightweight and easy to use I can see any household benefiting from having one. I think it is ideal for older adults who can maneuver the compact lightweight machine without having to worry about tripping over a cord. I also think the kids can easily use this vac and all the attachments.

It is touted as a great vac for pet homes and while agree with that statement, I also feel pet free homes can use this vac with great results.

Pros About the Bissell 2746A

Oh my goodness, I am going to say it again – when you purchase a Bissell, any Bissell, $25 goes to the Bissell Pet Foundation, so every purchase is helping save pets. I love it! There, now that is out of the way, lol.

Some other pros that make this product stand out are the patented brush that eliminates the hair wrap problem other power brush heads have. The clean slide mess-free dirt tank is a pro in that I don’t have to dig the hair and dirt out of the canister – just pop it open over the trash can and you can empty the tank without and mess.

I also really like the fact that even with the 11″ cleaning head the whole vac only weighs in at 7 pounds making it easy to use for a length of time and easy to hold up and use as a high duster.

And lastly, the Bissell 2746A has a bunch of attachments and all of them are really useful!

Cons About the Bissell 2746A

Although the vac itself is lightweight overall, the heaviest part of the vac by far is the part you hold in your hand. It feels top-heavy compared to some other cordless stick vacuum cleaners.

This vac doesn’t stand up on its own or have a little nook on the back so when you are moving furniture you have to lay it on the floor instead of lean or stand it against something.

The Bissell 2746A is a good, reliable mid-price cordless stick vac. I have mentioned that it has some most innovative attachments I have used and has a long run time with good suction.
